Below are some photos of nature that rivet my attention, allowing me to stay present. What holds my attention? Each photo is different. The effects of sunlight on the shell in the Shell photo or the rock doing its balancing act in the Balancing Rock, Nova Scotia, Canada photo or the color of the water in the US Virgin Islands photo are just a few examples.
See if any of these photos of nature rivet your attention too. If they do, congratulations! They are inspiring you to be present!
Insect and Shadow
Are you as captivated by the insect in this photo as I am? Its body is such a gorgeous florescent green color, and its shadow is such a perfect silhouette on the flower petal. What is the most awe-inspiring thing about this photo is that I didn’t even know I had taken a picture of the insect until much later. This is a one-in-a-million photo and an incredible gift from the Universe, don’t you think?
What draws your attention in this photo? For my part, it’s impossible to decide what is the most fascinating—the luminescence at the back of the shell or the ridges in the sand mirroring the shell’s ribs. This photo came from a trip to Wrightsville Beach, NC and a walk on the beach around sunrise. I found the shell amid a lot of storm debris and had a grand time taking pictures of it. Upon going back to the same spot months later, I found the area to be completely different and was reminded how quickly things change at the beach. At the same time, I felt grateful to have been there at the right time to find this enchanting shell.
Balancing Rock, Nova Scotia, Canada
Are you asking the same question I do when you look at this photo, “How in the world does that rock stay put?” I wondered it the first time I saw Balancing Rock and am still wondering it! That qualifies as keeping one’s attention, wouldn’t you agree?
Orange Sunrise-Hilton Head, SC
Does this fantastic orange sunrise inspire you to contemplate the beauties of nature? It certainly does for me! Both this photo and the Red Sunrise photo below came from a relaxing stay at the beach on Hilton Head Island, SC. Most mornings, I went out at sunrise to see what glories nature would provide, and it always provided plenty to capture the attention!
Red Sunrise-Hilton Head, SC
Isn’t this red sunrise thrilling? Scout’s honor, it was really that vivid!
Swiss Alps-Ridge View
Such an amazing place to contemplate the majesty of nature, isn’t it? Don’t you just want to sit down on the grass and drink it all in? Going to Switzerland had been on the Bucket List for many years. When I finally went, the beautiful scenery far exceeded expectations! This photo and the Valley photo below are of the Lauterbrunnen Valley from different viewpoints. It's your call as to which of these photos inspires you to be present the most!
US Virgin Islands
Are the colors of the water as mesmerizing for you as they are for me? The colors are so vivid, and the range from green to blue is absolutely fascinating. Others had talked about their trips to the Caribbean. When I finally went, I understood the appeal of the lovely tropical climate and the warm friendly people. It was lovely. It was the water that was the most spellbinding for me, though.
